Scottish Ltd – a full UK company backed by our own office in Scotland.
A Scottish limited company is registered at Companies House like an English one, with the same standing, taxes and obligations. It has a Scottish registered office, a company number starting “SC” and is governed by Scots law.
Why a Scottish Ltd
- Our own office in Scotland (Dollar, Clackmannanshire) handles your mail and official letters.
- Lower registered office costs than London.
- Same tax rules – Corporation Tax and VAT are UK-wide.
- Fast formation – usually within 24 hours of filing.
Scottish Ltd vs Scottish Limited Partnership: these are different. A Scottish Ltd is an ordinary limited company; a Scottish Limited Partnership (SLP) is a different form with stricter rules that we do not recommend for most founders.
After incorporation
- HMRC registration, bank account, VAT.
- Accounting and annual accounts.
- Registered office in Scotland for the following years.
